Oil & gas leaders have always been aspiring to maximise their capabilities, enhance operational activity, increase profitability from investing free cash, and accelerate the cash cycle. One possible tool to achieve this is dynamic discounting: receiving a discount from a supplier in exchange for early payment. In this mutually beneficial case, the profitability for the buyer is higher compared to a deposit, and does not involve credit risks or excessive paperwork; while the supplier can avoid bank credits. In order to realise the full potential of dynamic discounting, help regulate deals, and provide legal support, KPMG has developed the first Russian dynamic discounting Platform, where companies and suppliers can trade online via a convenient automated interface. A series of successful deals has already been concluded using the Platform, and we hope that in future this tool will gain widespread use across the market.
