In the article, our colleagues dwell on the most relevant risks for the oil & gas industry, ways to reflect them in planning and operations, innovations in the sector which can promote low-carbon development, and the measures which the government takes to regulate emissions.
Threats from climate change have recently come to the focus of attention of the global community, and are leading to numerous initiatives on global, national, and regional levels. These initiatives are generally aimed at regulating greenhouse gases emissions in order to move over to low-carbon development as soon as possible. The issue is especially pressing for coal mining and oil & gas companies, which are traditionally considered the largest greenhouse gases emission sources.
