KPMG’s new report Global M&A in Consumer Markets: Pursuing growth in an uncertain world, draws on interviews with KPMG M&A professionals in 23 countries, as well as private equity executives, examining how companies in the food, drink, consumer goods and retail sectors are pursuing growth and consolidation amidst global uncertainty.
The report finds that a widespread global recovery in consumer market M&A activity has been slowed by low consumer confidence and uncertainty over the euro zone financial crisis, but companies worldwide remain eager to grow and consolidate and are preparing to come back strongly when confidence returns in 2012 and 2013
