Mikhail has been working with KPMG since 2007. Prior to that, he conducted legal work for the customs authorities for more than 10 years. In this capacity, Mikhail helped to draft and promote the adoption of the Customs Code and various customs regulations (including Russian government directives and regulations of the ministries and Federal Customs Service), participated actively in the customs authorities’ international activities, including Russia’s WTO accession, the implementation of simplified customs procedures and participation in meetings of the World Customs Organization’s technical committee. He also advised and provided recommendations on customs regulation matters for lower customs authorities and international businesses, monitored lower authorities’ compliance with applicable customs legislation, participated in litigations with international businesses at both the pre-trial and trial stages.
Mikhail’s experience working with Russian, foreign and international customs authorities allows him to provide quality advice on customs regulations and to minimize customs-related risks.
