Elena works with KPMG in Moscow since 2007. She specializes in international tax and Russian “deofshorization” projects. Elena’s main areas of expertise are as follows: restructuring of large Russian and foreign groups to improve tax efficiency, structuring of acquisition of Russian and foreign assets, structuring of participation of Russian investors in foreign joint ventures established to implement projects in Russia and abroad, development of tax efficient holding, trading, and financing structures, development of tax efficient management structures to manage foreign assets.
Elena specializes in support of redomiciliation processes, liquidation of foreign companies considering tax aspects, support in obtaining tax rulings from foreign tax authorities, analysis of existing holding, operating, and management structures of large Russian groups to evaluate the applicability and impact of the Russian “deoffshorization” tax legislation (rules of controlled foreign companies rules, tax residency for companies, beneficial ownership), identification of tax risks, calculation of potential tax liability, development of recommendations as to mitigation of identified tax risks and implications, support in implementation of recommendations. She has experience in advice of various aspects of Russian and international tax matters (including preparation of overviews of the tax regimes of various foreign jurisdictions).
