COVID Care App available for IOS and Android
The multi-platform solution developed with Outsystems technology at Microsoft Azure Cloud enables remote medical appointments and interaction between doctors and patients on an ongoing basis.
KPMG Portugal has developed a mobile application and a web portal to help Switzerland control COVID-19 and monitor patients who do not require hospital admission, while enabling remote medical appointments and interaction between doctors and patients on an ongoing basis.
Developed with Outsystems technology, this multi-platform solution will assist in rapidly identifying situations which require closer control or hospitalization, providing relevant information on the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and real-time statistics on the population being monitored.
Patients in isolation or quarantine will be notified daily to provide information about their health status and well-being and will be able to interact permanently with doctors and psychologists through live chat.
With KPMG's COVID Care App, Swiss health authorities aim to increase proximity to patients infected with COVID-19, be more efficient in defining the measures to be taken for each situation and have better information available about the infected population.

And it's an important and supportive aid for the next period, in which we must get used to living with the new coronavirus in our daily lives," said Lukas Engelberger, Basel Health Director, at the launching of the project. “It will be an important, helpful tool in the weeks and months to come as we are forced to adjust to the impact of the coronavirus on our everyday lives. I’d like to thank KPMG for the uncomplicated collaboration during the app’s development”, said the Basel Health Director.
The solution from KPMG Portugal, created with Outsystems technology at Microsoft Azure Cloud, in collaboration with KPMG Switzerland, is available for IOS and Android and will be implemented in the Canton of Basel, which has about 200,000 inhabitants and where more than 900 people have tested positive for COVID-19.
