In the first half of 2021, 242.1 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Poland, which is 34.6% more than in the first half of 2020. Increased sales were also recorded in the segments of light trucks (+57%), trucks (+96.8%), trailers and semi-trailers (+121.7%) and motorcycles, which were registered 17.3% more frequently year-on-year. The downward trend in the number of bus (-4%) and moped (-20.2%) registrations continues. The second quarter of 2021 was the fourth consecutive record-breaking quarter for alternative-drive passenger car registrations. The number of new registrations of such vehicles between January and June 2021 amounted to 75.8 thousand (+176.6% y/y).
From January to June 2021, 242.1 thousand passenger cars were registered in Poland, which means an increase of 34. 6% compared to the same period of 2020. The good result was possible thanks to the demand among institutional clients, who registered 179,000 vehicles (an increase of 45%) and who account for almost 74% of the market, and individual clients, who purchased 63,200 new cars, 12% more than in H1 2020.
