In the first half of 2020, over EUR 6 billion was invested in the six main markets of CEE in the real estate sector, with Poland responsible for approximately nearly half of the volume. After the outbreak of the pandemic in the CEE region, financing for investments in industrial and warehouse real estate became the most popular among all asset classes.

The objective with this report is to assess the prospects and sentiment for bank financing in the real estate sector in Europe, based on interviews conducted with bank representatives from 11 European countries, with a majority of participating banks from jurisdictions in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
