Monika is Partner at KPMG with over 20 years of experience in auditing financial statements and, above all, in accounting advisory services with significant experience in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). During her work, Monika gained valuable experience working for Audit New Zealand, audit services provider with other certification services for public sector entities in New Zealand. Between 2008–2011, Monika worked in the Department of Professional Practice, supporting audit teams in applying IFRS, the Accounting Act and audit standards. In 2011 Monika started working in the Accounting Advisory Department and her focus is on IFRS application advisory. Currently, Monika manages the accounting consultancy department in Poland and is responsible for consulting within this area in the CEE region. As part of KPMG, Monika is also responsible for the team in management consulting department focusing on infrastructural projects, including advisory projects for companies for which key costs comprises of electricity and heat. Monika gained her experience in the energy sector during a 20-year career at KPMG cooperating with the energy market leaders and industrial companies. Monika has participated in consulting projects for the largest companies operating in the area of electricity and heat generation and also energy distribution and transmission. Monika carried out accounting projects regarding mergers, divisions and other restructuring transactions regarding entities operating within the energy sector, accounting for costs of construction of power units, including capitalization of financing costs or approach to the income resulting from technological start-ups, implementation of standards regarding revenues or recognition of leases. Monika's experience in the energy sector also includes the issue of recognizing the costs of R&D projects and specific issues considering: emissions rights, certificates of origin, compensation or issues related to the Polish capacity market regulation. Monika's experience in conducting management consulting projects, including the ones from energy sector, led to the creation of a Team specialized in technical consulting, which implements strategic projects for the energy sector and energy-intensive enterprises, as well as supporting other enterprises in energy management.
