SUPPORT (IT SERVICES) - SENIOR SERVER SECURITY ENGINEER

 

Responsibilities

  • Participates in daily operation of Incidents, RITMs and CMR (change management request) tickets
  • Conducts regular server health-check and validates that there are no missing critical OS patches and updates. Applies patches as approved by L2/L3
  • Performs daily checks for infrastructure monitoring and backups and validates all systems are green and backups were successful
  • Proactively responds to system failure identified during checks
  • Performs routine tasks\change as directed by senior administrators
  • Meets agreed upon ticket SLAs
  • Develops routine change under the supervision of senior administrators
  • Acknowledges hardware alerts and coordinates with vendor/s on hardware maintenance. Coordinates with stakeholders and creates CHG ticket to schedule downtime (if necessary) for hardware replacement
  • Responsible for basic troubleshooting and resolution of issues. Gather enough data and information before escalating to L2
  • Works directly with Level 2’s for growth (uptraining)
  • Ensures proper documentation including creating drawings of High-Level to Low-Level Diagrams using Microsoft Visio tool and timely updates for assigned tasks
  • Coordinates with other teams in fulfilling the assigned tasks. - Responsible for ensuring to work with concerned teams in troubleshooting of technology problems
  • Ensures that proper troubleshooting techniques, protocols and tools are used in coming up with recommendations and solutions
  • Provides regular updates on the troubleshooting to Level 2's, Level 3's and, IT management
  • Responsible for the routine checking of the health and performance of the servers and vm infrastructure and ensures potential issues are reported for immediate attention/resolution
  • Responds to PRTTG alerts and incidents
  • Documents work turnover and cascades the same to the team
  • Applies solutions based on available technical documentations
  • Responsible for reporting and escalating any potential issues
  • Ensures that information security guidelines and policies are followed and implemented
  • Implements changes to ensure compliance of the infrastructure to the Information security guidelines and policies
  • Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent  
  • Has at least 3- 5 years experience in Microsoft Server Support Experience (2012 and newer versions), Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Desktop Support (Windows 10  and newer versions)
  • Has at least 3 years experience in handling VMware and Hyper-V Experience including managing specific server brands like Nutanix and Dell iDracs, managing switch and firewall support
  • Experience in Android and iOS Support Experience would be an advantage
  • Experience in Palo Alto Global Protect SSL VPN Specific would be an advantage
  • Has good understanding of any of the following technologies: Microsoft Domain Controller, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Office 365, IIS, GPO, including in a single-Forest multiple domain environment where you need to deploy Domain controller Group Policies
  • Has hands-on experience with VMware vCenter/vSphere/esxi host suites desired
  • Must be able to perform basic to intermediate troubleshooting on Desktop, servers, voice and network infrastructure
  • A SME or has hands on experience in System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Has 3-5 years relevant experience in the role with SCCM
  • Has the ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
