Fintech is one of the biggest disruptors of our time for financial institutions – whether banks, insurers, or asset management companies. It is also one of the greatest opportunities to seize as the industry fundamentally transforms around the customer, emerging digital technologies and new business models.
To better understand how companies are evolving to respond to this new paradigm, we surveyed 168 financial institutions from 36 countries, and interviewed executives from leading financial institutions on how companies are forging the future with fintech.
Our research shows that there is no single best way to approach fintech. Leading institutions are pursuing various avenues simultaneously – partnering, buying, sourcing and direct investment. Yet, one best practice across all leading institutions is a focused and aligned fintech strategy.
