KPMG is proud to have won Debt Deal of the Year at the 2019 Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand (INFINZ) Awards. The award recognised KPMG’s work as joint-lead commercial and financial advisor to Crown Infrastructure Partners (CIP) on the Milldale Development transaction.
The project demonstrates KPMG’s ability to develop and successfully finance new commercial structures in New Zealand’s infrastructure markets. KPMG brought fresh thinking backed with deep market knowledge to help CIP deliver a project that will help fuel New Zealand’s prosperity.
KPMG and Macquarie Capital NZ advised CIP on the development of a pathfinder housing infrastructure funding and financing model, to accelerate housing development in Milldale, 35 kilometres north of Auckland. The project will finance and deliver $91 million of roads and wastewater infrastructure supporting up to 9,000 homes. It will be financed using fixed rate, long term debt from the Accident Compensation Corporation and contributions from Fulton Hogan, Auckland Council and CIP. Fulton Hogan and property owners will repay the debt through a special rate over time.
The annual INFINZ Awards recognise innovation and excellence in New Zealand's financial and capital markets sector and are the leading financial industry awards across New Zealand's calendar year.
