The annual food and drink report from Waitrose shows the food and drink trends in the UK have been “fundamentally reshaped” by the covid-19 pandemic, with significantly increased activities of cooking at home and a “seismic” shift towards online shopping, which are expected to stay. The Waitrose report is based on a poll of 2,000 adults who shop across a range of retailers, and sales data from millions of purchases in-store and online this year.
