The Government is planning to attract another 5,000 workers to the forestry and wood-processing sectors through the Workforce Action Plan. Forestry Minister Shane Jones states that the sectors will play a critical role in helping New Zealand’s economy recover after the Covid-19 pandemic. The action plan addresses challenges faced in the sectors and suggests ways to overcome them through building on existing initiatives and beginning new ones.
