Andrew began his career at KPMG New Zealand and has over 9 years’ experience in helping clients with a range of complex and high value tax matters and disputes. Andrew is experienced in assisting clients with their tax compliance, including corporate income tax, goods and services tax and withholding taxes. Andrew also has experience in advising clients on the tax implications of cross-border transactions, including group structuring, financing and transfer pricing.
On the disputes side, Andrew has worked alongside leading counsel in a practice that covered all aspects of tax disputes. He conducted all aspects of the statutory disputes process and litigated tax and related issues before Courts at various levels.
Between March 2015 and July 2017, Andrew practiced in the UK, spending most of his time at KPMG’s London office providing advice on disputes and complex technical matters in respect of VAT, Direct Tax and MTIC (“missing trader” or “carousel”) fraud and conducted tax and fraud litigation. Andrew was involved in litigation in most UK courts, from the Tax Tribunal and Crown Courts, to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
