We’re on a pretty exciting journey we’re looking for individuals who share our vision

We’re on a pretty exciting journey – and we’re looking for individuals who share our vision for creating a better New Zealand. If this sounds like something you’d be passionate about, we encourage you to apply for a grad or intern role.

Details on the recruitment process can be found below and we will post details of our application dates on our website, Facebook, Linkedin and also GradConnection pages as well.

In the meantime, below you’ll find a quick insight into what we’re looking for from potential grads and interns. There is no substitute for coming to talk to us though so come and find us on campus when we visit or register for one of open days/evenings when available here

We believe there’s no such thing as a ‘typical’ KPMG NZ candidate, and we actively seek a diverse graduate intake. To identify the kind of candidates who’ll be a good fit, we look at things like:

  • academic achievement (although grades aren’t everything, a B average or above will be viewed positively)
  • extra-curricular activities (sports, music, university societies etc)
  • volunteer work and community involvement, work experience (all work experience is valuable, especially if you’ve worked in a team or provided customer service).

You’ll also be able to clearly articulate why you’re interested in a career with KPMG.

Throughout our selection and recruitment process, we’ll be looking for the following skills and attributes:

Communication Skills

Recruitment Process in a nutshell

  • Start by researching us. Explore our website, chat to us online, engage with us, be proactive.
  • Apply online. Applications are usually open a year before your start date. Check out our current vacancies when they are live. You’ll need to provide your official University academic transcript as part of your application.
  • Video interview and Online Testing. If we think you look like a good KPMG fit, based on your application, we’ll ask you to answer a few questions about yourself using an online video interview tool. Don’t worry, the questions aren’t tricky (and you get the chance to practice using the video tool beforehand). We’ll also send you some verbal, numerical and personality questionnaires to do online, we have listened to your feedback on this in recent times and developed our own tool so it won’t take as long to complete as some testing you’ll receive.
  • Invitation to our Assessment Day This is where it gets exciting. The invitation will be by phone, and we’ll fully explain what to expect on the day.
  • Assessment Day. This is a fantastic learning opportunity (see our video). You’ll get to analyse and present a real-life business case, and have fun working in teams. You’ll also be taken on an office tour, and get to network with Partners, Managers and Grads as well as having the opportunity to meet one-on-one with one of our Partners or Directors.
  • The offer. All offers will be made within 24 hours of the Assessment Day. Good luck!
