We are happy to announce that KPMG the Netherlands has been awarded the gold standard by EcoVadis, an independent platform that assesses the quality of a company’s CR management system through its policies, actions, and results. We believe that KPMG as an organization must play an exemplary role in the field of CR. Therefore we have anchored it in all aspects of our business operations. The EcoVadis assessment focuses on 21 issues which are grouped into 4 themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
EcoVadis operates the first collaborative platform providing Sustainability Ratings for global sustainable procurements, with a mission to provide the world’s most-trusted sustainability ratings, enabling all businesses to reduce risk, drive performance, and improve environmental and social outcomes. Over 44 clients of KPMG have access to KPMG’s CR scorecard in EcoVadis. It helps our clients to get a good insight of our CR ambitions and results and it highlights what we can do to further improve our performance and reduce risks even more. Reviewing the score card of potential new suppliers upfront can be seen as differentiator in selecting new suppliers.
KPMG obtained a score higher than 62/100, and for this reason we have been awarded a gold recognition level. An accomplishment we are very proud of! This result includes KPMG the Netherlands among the top 5% performers evaluated by EcoVadis. Moving from Silver to the Gold recognition, was a result of the improvements we made in our Sustainable Purchasing process, (e.g. improvements in our contract management and KPI’s on social and environmental aspects for our suppliers), our extensive Inclusion & Diversity program, our new Pro Bono policy and our continuous improvements in our robust environmental management system. We are very happy with this result, it keeps us on track and motivated to constantly keep improving our business operations to reduce the burden on the environment and increase our positive impact on society. We are in constant dialogue with our stakeholders to further develop our Corporate Responsibility strategy and the way we communicate about it!
