Egbert is an actuary and a member of the Dutch Actuarial Society with 30 years of experience as an advisor to insurance companies on actuarial and financial risks. His experience concerns all types of insurance such as life, non-life, healthcare, income, funeral, pensions, captives and reinsurance. Egbert has been working as a partner for KPMG since 2016. Before that he was involved as an actuary with M&A in the insurance sector and he worked as Managing Director for Mercer Oliver Wyman and Towers Watson.

Egbert is a sparring partner for directors and chief officers of insurance companies in and outside the Netherlands. He was involved in several strategic decisions related to acquisitions, capital management, digitalization, risk management, implementations, reorganizations, automation, innovation and new products and markets.

Furthermore Egbert was also a certifying actuary for several insurance companies. He has also led various projects in the field of product development and product innovation, reservation, actuarial due diligence, automated actuarial reporting, implementation of actuarial software, valuations, reinsurance, pricing, mortality modelling, IFRS17 and Solvency II.

Currently Egbert is closely involved in several new developments such as cyber insurance, data driven pricing, actuarial automation, new concepts for life insurers and the digital insurer.
