Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council has approved the Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement (MCAA) for the exchange of country-by-country (CbC) reports. Nigeria signed the MCAA in January 2016, along with representatives of some 30 other countries.
With approval of the MCAA by the council, Nigeria is a step closer to implementation of the base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) Action 13 on CbC reporting. It is expected that a bill to transpose the CbC rules into Nigerian law will be presented to the National Assembly soon.
