I was in the Tax, Regulatory and People Services (TRPS) division. Specifically, I was assigned to the Transfer Pricing (TP) unit. I carried out different roles during the course of my internship. I got to learn about TP during the period of my internship; TP entails transactions between connected parties and several other things. I was able to learn the basics of TP. I learnt how to compute a Qualitative Review, Compliance report, Snap shot of accepted companies, filling declaration and disclosure forms. I was able to build my inter-personal skills, I assisted senior colleagues on projects. I had the opportunity to go to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) office to file different documents for various clients. I was privileged to be part of the team that worked on filing corporate income tax returns to meet the June 30th deadline. It was actually a tensed day, so many printings was done, filings at the FIRS. I was opportune to go to client’s sites.
I also participated actively in the KPMG games; I was a member of the female football team and also participated in sack race. I had the opportunity of working with people from other units in TRPS and I got to learn about the Export Expansion Grant (EEG); an incentive for exporters who repatriate their export proceeds within 180 days of export of their products.
