KPMG in Mozambique was founded in Mozambique is a fully accredited member firm of KPMG International and was the first of the traditional ‘Big Four’ firms to provide audit, tax and advisory services in Mozambique. KPMG in Mozambique has a reputation for inspiring confidence and empowering change and is thus the advisor of choice to many of Mozambique’s leading companies July 1990 and currently has a presence in 4 of the Country’s 11 provinces including”: Maputo, Nampula, Zambezia and Cabo Delgado.
We have more than 300 professionals and seven partners who provide professional services to both public and private entities. Our portfolio includes a large number of the top 100 company's listing, as well as cooperation partners and NGOs.

What KPMG Stands for
KPMG is the registered and correct full name of our firm. The name is based on the abbreviation of the names of the firm's principal founding members, Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler. The background to these names also provides a brief history of the firm.
stands for Klynveld. Piet Klynveld was the founder of the Dutch accounting firm Klynveld Kraayenhof & Co., now KPMG Netherlands. In 1979 Klynveld joined forces with Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft and the international professional firm McLintock Main Lafrentz to form Klynveld Main Goerdeler (KMG).
is for Peat. William Barclay Peat founded the accounting firm William Barclay Peat & Co. in London in 1870.
stands for Marwick. James Marwick founded the accounting firm Marwick, Mitchell & Co. with Roger Mitchell in New York City in 1897. In 1911 William
Barclay Peat & Co. and Marwick Mitchell & Co. joined forces to form Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., later to become Peat Marwick International (PMI), a major international accounting and consulting firm.
is for Goerdeler. Dr. Reinhard Goerdeler was for many years chairman of Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft and later chairman of KMG. He is credited with laying much of the groundwork for the KPMG merger.
In 1987 PMI and KMG embarked upon the accounting
profession's first mega-merger and formed KPMG. All member firms throughout the world now carry the KPMG name exclusively or include it in their national firm names.
