The Challenge

Based on data provided by a client operating a multi-chain restaurant outlets, how can we assist its management to analyse insights and trends using a BI tool?

This is a data visualisation challenge assignment where you are expected to import datasets provided, perform data modelling (i.e. build relationships) and create interactive dashboards using any visualisation tool (such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qliksense, etc.).

Visualisations such as interactive dashboards often help us highlight key findings and convey our ideas in a more succinct manner.

Here is your task

Develop interactive dashboards using any BI or visualistion tool to analyse outlets sales and profitability performance. Creativity and thinking out of the box are the core skills to excel in this Challenge. Use your passion to research on the functionality of your chosen visualisation tool. Display your data and results of your analysis in the form of graphs and charts in interactive dashboards (see Resources for reference). Develop a maximum of three dashboards, with each showcasing different aspects of business). It is important to keep in mind the business context when developing the dashboards and presenting your findings on the dashboards:

  • What are the trends in the underlying data?
  • What are the key analysis for a business with multi-chain restaurant outlets?
  • Which are the top performing stores from sales and profitability perspectives?
  • What do you propose to be the Company’s marketing and growth strategy?
