KPMG in Malaysia is seeking the next generation of cyber and technology warriors! Participants will put their cyber security and innovative thinking skills to the test in the fifth consecutive KPMG Cyber Challenge.
This year, the Challenge scope has been revamped to test undergraduates on their ability to develop innovative, real-world business solutions. Stay tuned for other announcements!
The Challenge comprises of two separate competitions:
National Qualifier: 25 August 2019
Finals: 25 September 2019
This red teaming and capture-the-flag exercise will pit teams against each other in a battle of scores as they are tested in: reverse engineering, steganography, cryptography, programming, network analysis, infrastructure hacking, web application security, digital forensics. The cyber challenge may also test teams to think in business terms and place them in real digital fraud scenarios.
All teams will participate in an online National Qualifier - 20 teams with the highest scores will advance to the Finals to compete for the title of Cyber Security Challenge Champion.

Finals: 25 September 2019
There are three different categories for this challenge, and all participating teams will be required to complete each one. Universities may submit up to two teams only, and the organizing committee reserves the right to perform a pre-challenge qualifier to select teams for the Finals.
Case studies will be developed by KPMG in Malaysia’s Strategic Cyber and Technology Partners for each category. Teams will be given their case studies prior to the Finals and they must analyze and develop a tech solution for each challenge.
During the Finals, teams will present their solution to a judging panel comprising industry leaders, testing their ability to develop real-world solutions to real-world business issues. It is recommended to have a mix of different skill sets in each team such as: computer programming, computer engineering, and network security.

Participation is open to all undergraduates from local public and private universities. Registration is FREE!
Students who are currently pursuing a degree in cyber security, computer science, forensics, communications and technology, telecommunications, computing or information technology are strongly encouraged to participate.
