According to Phang Oy Cheng, KPMG in Malaysia’s Head of Sustainability Advisory Services, more businesses have begun to recognize that ESG matters can no longer be disregarded – as the pandemic has put both corporations’ and government’s ESG risk management under the microscope and enhanced scrutiny.

“An example is the scrutiny of corporate behavior in relation to management of their migrant labour workforce, leading to significant economic and reputational damage among our corporations,” she expounds.
