Social issues in the supply chain are fast gaining visibility, especially when it comes to efforts to curb human rights abuse and improve labor conditions.

"Companies that take the time to understand these risks and opportunities will be able to work with their supply chain to ensure sustainability, for example, on decarbonization efforts or human rights risk mitigation. Companies should also put in the effort to embed ESG principles such as ethical and sustainable thinking principles within their supply chain,” shares Phang Oy Cheng, KPMG in Malaysia’s Head of Sustainability Advisory.
