The entire program was revamped 10 years ago when MICPA forged a partnership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) to offer the MICPA-CAANZ Program.
KPMG Malaysia managing partner, Datuk Johan Idris has been a proud MICPA member since 1993. On the MICPA qualifications, he says, “ It opens up various opportunity and provides industry exposure. It has evolved over time and I am proud of the way my association has remained relevant to the business needs of today.
“Today, the MICPA and CA ANZZ collaboration gives members access to the Global Accounting Alliance (GAA), a group of 10 premier accounting bodies globally, which will definitely help any accountant wishing to have a global career.”
Datuk Johan added that KPMG in Malaysia also provides special financial incentive to MICPA candidates who pass the exams on their first attempt. Study leave of five days and exam leave of one day per paper are also provided on top of their annual leave so they have sufficient time to prepare.
“We regard the MICPA-CAA NZ program highly because it trains you for practical application and helps you develop a sound understanding of an organization’s finance, giving you a solid foundation to grow your career across all aspects of the business”.
