Further developments in relation to HS 2022 Implementation

Correlation Tables

On 23 May 2022, the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (“RMCD”) had published two correlation tables i.e. 2022-2017 and 2017-2022 respectively, correlating tariff codes in the Customs Duties Order 2017 to Customs Duties Order 2022 and vice versa.  The tables serve as a guide for importers and traders to identify goods that are affected by the implementation of HS 2022 Nomenclature (Harmonized System).

Corrigendum

Customs Duties Order 2022 Corrigendum (P.U. (A) 162) has been gazetted to correct a number of errors in the Customs Duties Order 2022 (P.U. (A) 114) published on 15 April 2022.  Amongst several typo errors corrected, rates of Import/ Export Duty in respect of the following have been amended:

Excise Duties Order 2022

Correspondingly in line with the implementation of the HS 2022 Nomenclature, Excise Duties Order 2022 (P.U. (A) 163) has been gazetted and comes into operation on 1 June 2022.  The Excise Duties Order 2017 (P.U. (A) 92/2017) will be revoked.
