Navigating through the evolution of Corporate Governance with the introduction of Tax Corporate Governance Framework

With increasing complexity in the current business environment, there has been a considerable amount of scrutiny by the public and tax authorities on whether an organization is paying its "fair share" of taxes. It has become pertinent for organizations to demonstrate accountability and tax risk management through the incorporation of tax corporate governance as part of their governance structure.

On 1 March 2022, the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia ("IRB") officially launched the Tax Corporate Governance Framework ("TCGF") in conjunction with its 26th Hari HASIL. Following that, the framework and guidelines were also released on 15 April 2022.

We are pleased to bring you the ‘KPMG Board Leadership Center Exclusive – Navigating through the evolution of Corporate Governance with the introduction of Tax Corporate Governance Framework ("TCGF")' webinar, where our distinguished speakers share their insights on the latest Corporate Governance development and how TCGF could potentially benefit your organization.

About Corporate Governance and TCGF:

Corporate governance is defined as the process and structure used to direct and manage the business and affairs of the company towards promoting business prosperity and corporate accountability, with the ultimate objective of realizing long-term shareholder value while taking into account the interest of other stakeholders.

TCGF is a subset of the wider scope of Corporate Governance. The introduction of TCGF brings about the IRB’s initiative towards adopting a cooperative tax compliance process with organizations that is both fair and effective.
