Proposals from ESP to PENJANA: Have you got it all?

Penjana

The COVID-19 outbreak has brought the world to a standstill.  With worldwide travel bans being implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19, businesses in the tourism industry and tourism-dependent retail industry have been severely affected by the pandemic and are bearing the brunt of the adverse impacts.  Such travel restriction has certainly put a strain on, amongst others, hotel, tour, leisure and hospitality operators.  Non-essential retail outlets were also severely hit as they were not allowed to operate during the Movement Controlled Order (MCO) period.

Thankfully, the Government’s decision to uplift the ban on domestic tourism under the Recovery MCO signals the beginning of the recovery of domestic tourism.  Non-essential retail outlets are also allowed to resume operations with SOPs in place.  While building resilience and positioning the enterprise to thrive in a new normal, it may be worthwhile to take a look back at the tax-related measures introduced by the Malaysian Government to support the tourism and retail sector to see how corporations could benefit from these measures.

To guide you through this challenging time, KPMG is organising a webinar session that will delve into the tax-related measures introduced by the Malaysian Government in the Economic Stimulus Package, PRIHATIN Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package, Additional PRIHATIN SME Economic Stimulus Package and the recent National Economic Recovery Plan to counteract the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism and retail industry in Malaysia.

This webinar is complimentary, with limited slots available. Kindly peruse the details below, and register online using the links provided.
