Kazuya Watanabe first joined KPMG in Japan in 2001 where he built a career in audit and accounting advisory services, providing support to a wide range of clients covering Electronics, Pharmaceutical, Construction and Manufacturing industries.
From October 2011 to September 2014, he worked in the Malaysia firm as an expatriate, and was subsequently made a Partner of KPMG in Japan in May 2017. Then, in August 2017, he returned to Malaysia where he has been instrumental in expanding the Firm’s Japanese Practice Unit (JPU) portfolio. Kazuya permanently transferred to KPMG in Malaysia and was appointed a Principal of KPMG PLT beginning September 2021. In this role, he will be responsible to drive strategic growth for the Firm’s JPU supporting Japanese clients and helping to build the bridge for businesses in Japan and Malaysia.
