Lian Seng leads the Tax Dispute Resolution group in Malaysia. He is also the Head of the Korea Business Practice in KPMG in Malaysia. He has over 25 years of experience in Tax has provided him with wealth of knowledge and experience in handling a vast variety of corporate tax assignments, including representing Malaysian taxpayers during tax audits, investigations and dispute resolution hearing before the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (MIRB). He has appeared before the Special Commissioner of Income Tax as an expert witness and today. Lian Seng has worked with clients as well as quantity surveyors and advised on a number of projects that have involved capital allowance claims and specifically identifying elements of plants and machinery. Lian Seng is a Fellow of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM), Associate of the Institute of Internal Auditors of Malaysia (IIAM) and Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, as well as a Member of the Tax Audit and Investigation Sub Committee, CTIM.
Professional and Industry Experience
His main areas of specialization is in corporate tax dispute resolution and controversy assignments, particularly in advising local and multinational corporations on tax audits and tax investigations. He also has experience in numerous major capital allowance maximization projects and Goods and Services Tax (GST) advisory.
