Nasri currently serves as the Head of Financial Management in the Advisory arm of KPMG in Malaysia. He has more than 20 years of experience in audit and financial reporting related fields.
He was directly involved in the development of MBRS/XBRL taxonomies on behalf of a consortium advising Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) on the MBRS/XBRL project. Subsequently, SSM appointed KPMG to assist in the development of training materials and provision of trainings to the public as part of the initial deployment of MBRS. Nasri is featured as a trainer in SSM’s MBRS training flyers.
In the financial reporting space, Nasri is currently involved in MFRS 9 (Financial Instruments), MFRS 16 (Leasing) and MFRS 17 (Insurance) conversion projects.
He was involved in various client engagements involving first-time adoption of the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (FRSs) and performing Gap analysis and validation exercise on the adoption of FRS 139. He was also involved in various financial due diligence and investigation audits, and acted as Reporting Accountants for numerous fund raising activities through capital market, including initial public offerings and sukuk issuance.
Nasri is a member of MASB Standing Committee on Islamic Financial Reporting and a member of MIA Islamic Finance Committee. He is also a member of KPMG Global Islamic Finance Team.
He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences, International Islamic University, Malaysia.
