When you enter the KPMG International Case Competition (KICC), you’re starting an exciting journey: one filled with continuous learning, self-improvement and the opportunity to prove yourself. You’ll get the chance to experience the type of work our member firms undertake, while also receiving valuable coaching from KPMG leaders and industry experts.

During the competition, you will:

Once you’ve proven your abilities and showcased your talent, you’ll have the chance to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the KPMG International Case Competition final in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You’ll be challenged and inspired to demonstrate your genuinely agile thinking and have the opportunity to explore the city, enjoy social events and network with peers and industry leaders. You’ll also, of course, have a shot at winning the international championship.

The Competition

This event will challenge and inspire you, testing your team’s ability to analyze and respond to realistic business scenarios.

During each stage of the competition, your team will be given a detailed case study to consider – and the rest is up to you. For each round, you and three teammates will have three hours to:

  • review the dossier you've been given
  • identify and analyze key business issues
  • develop a compelling set of recommendations
  • prepare an engaging presentation for the judges.

When you emerge from your team headquarters, you will present your ideas to a panel of experienced KPMG firms’ partners and leaders. The judges will listen to your presentation and ask challenging questions, playing the role of the client. You will be held to the same standards of excellence that we expect from KPMG professionals. And if you have the innovative and agile thinking our judges are looking for, you’ll advance through the next rounds of competition.

Experience the fast-paced world of casework, receive valuable feedback and insight from KPMG leadership and gain in-depth insight into our organization. During the KPMG International Case Competition (KICC), you’ll see what’s possible.

To participate in KICC, you don’t need to be studying a particular subject. But to succeed, you should have the following:

  • an interest in business, science, technology, engineering or math and a passion for excellence
  • strong leadership and task management skills— composure under pressure— the ability to absorb a range of information quickly
  • talent for thinking through ideas and presenting strategic solutions
  • the determination to make the most of this experience.Get ready to challenge your thinking and begin to understand business from a global perspective. 

You will discover and develop your own strengths, working with other talented students and competing for the championship.It takes flexibility and teamwork to create the innovative solutions our judges are looking for, and you will need both to win the championship.
