Christian Rast has held leading positions in various functions for more than 25 years. Starting as an Executive Board assistant at Bertelsmann AG, he then advanced into other positions within the Bertelsmann Group, and subsequently took on responsibilities as project manager at Roland Berger & Partner primarily for the German privatization agency Treuhandanstalt, before assisting clients such as Veba AG, Bayer AG and Chemische Werke Hüls AG at Dicke & Wicharz (a McKinsey spin-off) with strategy and supply chain projects.He was one of the co-founders of BrainNet in 1995, and as Managing Director played a pivotal role in the company's development into the leading purchasing and supply chain consulting firm in the German-speaking region in just 17 years. BrainNet stands out from its competitors through publication of numerous articles and publications on this subject as well as the development of innovative consultancy approaches and quantitative methods.Since KPMG's acquisition of BrainNet in 2012, he has been a KPMG Partner and head of the Global Center of Excellence for Procurement Advisory. Since October 2014, Christian took the role as Chief Solution Officer within the German firm. As such he is responsible for the management and development of the KPMG solution portfolio across the Audit, Tax, T&R and Consulting services. Christian is also a member of the KPMG Capital Steering committe and KPMG global Strategic Investments Steering group.
