The KPMG Banca Cup was held last Saturday, 12 May, at Luxol Grounds, Pembroke.
This 5-a-side football tournament, which is gaining in popularity year after year, was organised and fully sponsored by KPMG in Malta.
This year, the men’s tournament enjoyed record participation, with thirteen teams competing for the cup. The participating companies were APS, BNF Bank, Bank Of Valletta, FIMBank, HSBC, KPMG, KPMG Crimsonwing, Lombard Bank, MAPFRE Middlesea, MFSA, NBG, Satabank, and Sparkasse.
In this years’ tournament, we also saw the participation of four teams for the women’s league which was contested by Bank of Valletta, Credorax, FIMBank and KPMG.
Bank of Valletta were the overall winners of this year's Banca Cup after a 4-2 victory over KPMG in the men's final. This follows their win in last year’s edition of the tournament.
Bank of Valletta also emerged as the winning side in the women's league, after winning all three matches.
Thomas Galea, Director at KPMG, presented trophies to the winning teams, and mementos to all participants.
