A morning seminar in Malta providing insight from foreign and local regulatory and tax experts.
28 June 2017, 8:30AM - 12:30PM, CET
KPMG is closely following developments pursuant to the application by the UK under Article 50 of the Treaty on the European Union, thus triggering the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.
What does this imply for your business?
The majority vote for the UK to exit the EU in the June 2016 UK referendum has left a wake of uncertainty and instability. It remains unclear whether Brexit will be hard or soft and the EU is taking an exacting approach in the negotiations. What is certain is that businesses in the UK as well as businesses outside the UK with British suppliers and clients need to start planning for March 2019 as soon as possible.
As the countdown has started, it is vital for such businesses to be aware of developments to enable them to pro-actively provide for risk management, have contingency plans in place and adopt ‘no-regrets’ positions.
Informative Morning Seminar by Local and Foreign KPMG Brexperts, creating awareness, addressing concerns and providing solutions
Leading Brexperts in the tax and regulatory fields are flying in specially from KPMG’s EU Tax Centre (Robert van der Jagt) and KPMG UK (Rob Clayton, Mark Essex, Kennedy Masterton-Smith and Matt Grosvenor) to provide us with on-the-ground insights about the latest developments and potential solutions for your businesses. Local speakers (Juanita Brockdorff and Trudy Marie Muscat) will shed light on the Maltese solution to Brexit and round off the discussion by addressing key concerns.
The Time to Act is Now!
London-based financial institutions have started establishing a presence in the remainder of the EU, and likewise, institutions serving the British market in all likelihood will no longer be able to passport into the UK. Similarly, importing into and exporting out of the UK will become more cumbersome and less efficient and would need to be catered for.
For this reason, we encourage attendance and participation at this Seminar in Malta, as well as at a similar event we are organising in the UK, so please let us know whether you would be interested in attending such event where you cannot make it to the Malta one. We look forward to welcoming you.
