The Transition Manager will work alongside various internal and external teams on major transition projects. The overall purpose of the role is to ensure that the transition project is delivered on time and within budget whilst aiming to exceed customer expectations by ensuring a smooth transition. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs the role of Transition Manager for complex applications in a widespread implementation with a large user base
  • Effectively manages transition stakeholders through governance and communications, updating them with transition issues and what is being done to rectify the problem
  • Effectively demonstrates control of transitions through effective reporting tools
  • Is responsible for coordinating implementation activities, providing effective team leadership, including information flow to and from the incumbent service provider as well as KPMG during the transition
  •  Ensures that knowledge transfer activities are held according to plan and within the required scope
  • Evaluates inflight development projects and CRs and defines their impact on the overall plan
  • Manage the commercials for Transition including costs associated with client and third parties
  • Owns the transition project plans and ensures that timelines and milestones are met
  • Attends customer meetings and workshops, possibly onsite
  • Identifies, escalates and manages project risks
  • Proactively manages relationships with clients and 3rd parties including effective communications, problem solving and team work to ensure effective transition outcomes
  • Builds upon the internal KPMG network with other Transition specialists
  • Helps support the build out of the Transition capability including updating frameworks, methods and reporting
  • Analyses and implements improvements to the transition process, whilst supporting the  development of the transition knowledge base so lessons learned are captured and incorporated in future transitions
  • Analyses and implements improvements to the transition process
  • Trains and educates others on transition methods
  • Keeps appraised of Transition best practices and ensure methods are updated to incorporate latest practices

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT management or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of experience in process transitioning, re-engineering and solutions designing especially in operations domain Experience handling the complete project lifecycle from initiation till closure
  • Experience in working with complex business process frameworks and in-depth
  • Able to transition projects within tight deadlines
  • Is experienced in reviewing onboarding processes end-to-end, managing them and ensures existing processes are mapped to business processes within new or existing ones within KPMG
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to understand the detail but also able to take a big picture approach. Experience in ITIL aligned Service Management
  • ITIL Foundation essential, Practitioner desirable
  •  Experience of project delivery in all aspects of the Transition Lifecycle Management for the introduction of managed services
