KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions is looking for a talented Microsoft Dynamics365 CE Senior Technical Architect to form part of the Managed Services Area, eager to work in a fast-paced environment. Due to expansion, this fantastic opportunity has arisen. This role will allow you, as a Dynamics365 Senior Technical Architect (STA), to work with the world-famous Microsoft Dynamics platform on some of the best D365CE projects, acting as a technical point of reference within the Managed Services Area.

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Technical Architect will lead the delivery of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions while effectively interfacing and communicating with engagement and programme managers as well as leading the technical delivery team to ensure that the CRM solution meets client’s requirements;
  • Always represent KPMG in a professional and positive manner.
  • Have an exceptional understanding of Dynamics 365 technical capabilities, acting as a champion for technical solutions across the Microsoft platform whilst driving the adoption of new features and technology
  • Provide guidance from a technical perspective for business decisions on incidents and problems around aspects such as performance, scalability, reliability, and security. As part of this process, to identify technical risks and mitigate or communicate as necessary.
  • Deliver high quality business and software services to clients ensuring the implementation of best practices and based on Microsoft Dynamics standards and supported configuration/customisations
  • Provides technical inputs and views during the Demand and Transition periods, as well as provides technical guidance to the team and customers. 
  • Potential for oversight the general performance of other internal resources and teams and/or third-party partners involved in the delivery of our managed services.
  • Coordinates and motivates the support teams, so to ensure that MBS customers are getting the best possible service.
  • Identify key skill set, resource and/or training requirements for support, implementation, testing and deployment of fixes.
  • Lead the release packages to any environment using Microsoft best practice and release standards, ensuring and gatekeeping any third-party solution packages are adhered to best practices
  • Lead the technical side of Pre-Sales activities as required including designing and building demo and proof of concept solutions for various client presentations as well as presenting to prospective clients.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations of business knowledge, skills and behaviour.
  • Ensure progress updates are communicated to relevant parties both formally and informally.
  • Promote continual improvement of processes and standards to better provide fixes and work arounds consistently with maximum reusability, quality and at least risk.
  • Carry out additional duties as may occur from time to time as instructed and agreed by Directors.
  • In all activities, ensure timely completion of internal processes and mandatory training.

Requirements

Qualification and Skills

  • A University graduate with relevant degree within a computing or business discipline.
  • Minimum 3 Microsoft Dynamics CRM Certifications (CRM Online 2013, 2015, 2016 or 365).
  • Strong technical architecture experience and knowledge of best practices especially around integrating Dynamics 365 with other solutions such as other Microsoft products and third party or legacy systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services (SSRS) Integration Services, Analysis Services and MDS/MDM technologies.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Accelerators, industry templates and add-ons as well as ISV solutions and products commonly used in CRM projects.
  • Good understanding of .NET development including experience writing ASP.NET and C# code.
  • Excellent understanding of Dynamics CRM DB Schema and Business Data Model including the customisation and development of Business Data Models for different solutions.
  • A knowledge and understanding of all CRM functional areas
  • Proven experience in CRM Configuration, Customisation, standard workflows, dashboards, forms, views and standard reports development is a must.
  • Experience of leading the managed services of multiple complex CRM solutions including systems integration and using the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Experience in Carrying out estimates, code reviews and code/solution optimisations
  • ITIL certification is highly desirable
  • Broad understanding of software development lifecycle, development management, release management, data migrations, cut-over planning and early live support.
  • Knowledge of best practices for working with offshore teams and on multi-national projects.
  • The ability to work under a heavy workload in a time critical environment.
  • Experience of Agile Methodology
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to reassure customers.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Azure DevOps & CI CD Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Azure Fundamentals and Power Platform 

Experience and Background

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CE using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2013, 2015, 2016 or 365.
  • Expertise in providing support and managed services in both out of the box and development solutions in a Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment; Ability to technically lead engagements and present to the C-Suite stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing existing large-scale ERP implementations
  • Adept at Business Requirement Analysis with a focus on reducing development effort and simplifying delivery
  • Pre-sales experience
  • Excellent presentation and demonstration skills
  • Business process mapping, modelling and documentation knowledge
  • Experience of mentoring junior and offshore staff

Cyberattacks to worldwide major transport and logistics operators a couple of years ago, which led to a standstill of operations, shutting of IT systems across multiple sites and stranding of ships all over the world, with serious revenue impacts, brought under the spot light the necessity of having sound cyber-attack mechanisms, aimed at reducing external attacks. This prompted IMO to amend the International Safety Management Code, in order to cater for such events and also for operators to understand the need to consistently invest in digitalisation and not to carelessly outsource this to third parties.

Another sector within the aviation sphere which has encountered a rapid spike over the past decade, is related to the uses of drones, which have become operational on a vast scale and widely within the European Union territory. Predictions show that the European drone sector will eventually employ more than 100,000 people and have an economic impact exceeding €10 billion yearly over the next two decades.5

The versatility of drones within the military sector is recognised, however the uses of drones during the COVID-19 pandemic has been novel, and in some cases, crucial to continued operation with companies like Zipline offering the delivery of vital medical supplies via drones for remote areas since 2014.6 Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Zipline has upped its efforts. The use of drone operations minimises human contact by firstly removing the human element from the delivery service and secondly by assisting people to stay safely indoors and allowing the supplies to reach them. The use of technology in support of drones is a truly remarkable progress that has been leveraged by a number of similar drone companies and has borne fruit at a time when the world needed it most.

The potential of technology in this age is vast, from robotic process automation to data analytics. Driverless means of transport are now being used amongst various sectors of European public transportation and private transportation by car. Even shipping is not immune to such novelties with different grades of automation, which go from semi to complete automated vessels. Furthermore, the benefits arising out of technology and digitalisation are not limited to ship operators and airlines themselves but also extend respectively to ports, airports and subsidiary service providers, such as air traffic control, ship and port operators.

However, whilst automation could represent an opportunity to increase cost efficiencies, reduce costs on workforce and enhance opportunities for companies involved in the IT and cybersecurity arena, it also comes with multiple challenges. While start-ups with sufficient will and capital to invest might make the most of the competitive advantage offered by the newest technologies, older companies might see this as an unnecessary burden. Automation requires individuals having a strong IT and technical background, as well as substantial adaptation planning from an internal organisational point of view, which not every shipping company may wish to pursue. This is somewhat similar to what was required by the banking sector in embracing the fintech revolution.
