Assistant Manager, Gaming Services

In 2018, I decided to embrace a fresh challenge. After being selected for an exciting role with KPMG Malta, this welcoming little island would soon become my second home and the location of a new chapter in my life and career. My role in our specialised Gaming Team has offered significant exposure and insight into a variety of growth industries, namely video games, esports, gambling and emerging technologies.

Since joining, I have found KPMG’s leadership to be incredibly supportive. It is this level of support which has enabled me to establish a strong presence in the video games and esports industries locally and on a global level. Given the sheer size of the organisation, the first few weeks and months can be a little daunting, as with any new career experience. However, after some time and patience, the pieces of the jigsaw begin to fall nicely into place, and what you are left with is a seemingly endless global network of like-minded, committed and motivated peers.

In addition to driving the organisation of KPMG Malta’s annual Gaming eSummit, I have also enjoyed regular opportunities to attend local and overseas conferences. These opportunities have allowed me to learn from, and network with, several industry leaders along the way. These opportunities have been crucial in working towards my personal development goals, whilst also pushing me to further develop our service offerings for clients. I have been given the opportunity to speak publicly at some key industry conferences, which has allowed me to discuss some critical topics with well-established industry leaders. It would true to say that the unique challenges presented since joining have provided me with a platform to grow and test myself.

Since graduating from my Masters a few years ago, I had always hoped to merge my career and personal interests. As the saying goes – “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. From my perspective, KPMG is what you make it – if you are willing to challenge yourself and take opportunities as they present themselves, you would be hard-pressed to find a better place to work than at KPMG.
