Law on Mandatory Social Security Contributions
The latest amendments to the Law on Mandatory Social Security Contributions (SSC Law) were promulgated in the Official Gazette no. 171 dated 28 November 2017 and entered into force on the same day.
Among others, the maximum monthly threshold for calculation of social security contributions on employment income and pension and health contributions on payments to managing directors, members of management board and executive members of supervisory boards is increased from twelve average monthly salaries to sixteen monthly average salaries.
The maximum monthly threshold for calculation of the contributions for self-employed individuals will be increased from eight average monthly salaries to twelve average monthly salaries.
The amendments to the SSC Law will be applicable as of 1 January 2018.
Law on Excise Duties
The latest amendments to the Law on Excise duties envisage an increase of the excise duty on gas oil used as motor fuel (diesel) for MKD 3 per liter, from the previous amount of MKD 12.121 to MKD 15.121 per liter and an increase of the excise duty of gas oil used for heating purposes also for MKD 3, from the previous amount of MKD 3.136 to MKD 6.136 per liter.
The above amendments were promulgated in the Official Gazette no. 171 dated 28 November 2017, enter into force on 6 December 2017 and will be applicable as of 1 January 2018.
