KPMG Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence was established in Latvia to support clients in Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and globally helping businesses take care of their information security, mitigate risks by assisting in the development of cybersecurity strategies, implementing the latest security technologies, cutting costs, strengthening reputation, optimising and improving security processes.

“As the world continues to move towards greater digitalisation and technological integration businesses are facing far greater cyber risks, currently exacerbated also by the geopolitical situation. Organisations that fail to pay sufficient attention to their infrastructure, data protection and staff training can become easy targets for cyber attacks and suffer data theft, asset fraud, damage to the infrastructure and other irreversible losses. KPMG's Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence seeks to become a trusted partner providing full-scope support to organisations in their quest to improve cyber security,” points out Armine Movsisjana, Managing Partner at KPMG in Latvia.

The Cybersecurity Centre will offer a wide range of services across four fundamental categories – strategy and governance, transformation, cyber protection, and response to cyber incidents. In particular, these categories include services such as security evaluations, certifications, business model development, information management and privacy, cyber risk management, data leakage prevention, security architecture development, penetration testing, security operations and monitoring, and incident readiness and planning, digital forensics, and incident recovery support.

In the nearest future KPMG’s Cybersecurity Centre of Excellence will add new talents to its team increasing the number of specialists in Latvia and Lithuania to 30 in the year to come. The team specialises in several cyber security areas: penetration testing, development security, information risk management, data privacy, cyber incident response, identity and access management, development of cyber strategy and operating models, security architecture planning, cloud security and others.

The centre is under the supervision of Daniel Gräntz, Partner for the Swedish KPMG Cybersecurity practice, and he asserts the following, “Cybersecurity today is not only about the protection of your company or organization, it is also about establishing digital trust in the market and creating a cybersecurity culture within a company/organization.”
