Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Labour law and immigration practice group in KPMG by maintaining relationship with existing clients and attracting new engagements
  • Seek new digital approaches to be utilized by labour law practice in order to develop and offer clients digitalized solutions, products and services in labour/immigration law as well as keep up to date with the latest digitalisation and automation trends
  • Mentor, coach and support more junior colleagues in their personal and professional development by helping them to finding pragmatic and creative solutions to labour and immigration issues of clients and bring a broader perspective to the client
  • Provide full scope legal assistance to clients on various labour law matters ranging from ordinary day-to-day matters to more complicated matters involving employment termination, disputes and litigation
  • Handle labour law cases and disputes, including employment termination, breach of contract, potential discrimination, wage and hour matters, etc, as well as client representation in the State Labour Inspectorate and / or court 
  • Represent clients in a wide scope of immigration law matters requiring individual approach. Including consulting on legal requirements for employment of foreign nationals, obtaining of residence and work permits, preparing of relevant documentation; representing before state authorities; assistance with Posting of Workers requirements, etc.
  • Keep up to date with latest changes in labour, immigration and human rights laws and regulations, and handle and support matters related to these areas of law
  • Work with experienced legal colleagues and cooperate with colleagues from KPMG Global network

Education and experience 

  • You have Master's degree in law and lawyer’s professional qualification
  • You are Attorney at Law 
  • You have experience of at least 5 years in law or legal advisory
  • Your experience in digitalisation and automation processes will be seen as an advantage

Technical skills 

  • You possess knowledge of labour, immigration and human rights laws
  • You have significant experience working with litigation, negotiation and human rights matters
  • You have a good command of MS Tools (Excel, Word, Power point)
  • You are fluent in Latvian and English, both written and spoken

  • You quickly learn new IT programmes and systems, as well you are interested in latest digital trends
  • You are a self-motivated and pro-active person, who demonstrates good communication skills, eagerness to learn and grow
