2020 has been a difficult year for everyone. But we can make the holidays a little better for some.
COVID-19 has brought into sharper focus the need to appreciate the important things, support each other, and to give to those in need in our community. At KPMG, we are inspired by the acts of kindness and giving we have seen throughout this pandemic.
This year, on behalf of our clients we dedicate the holidays to a Season of Giving. We are using our time and resources to give back to those in need in Luxembourg in several ways to make sure these are #HolidaysWithHeart.
Giving meals to families
Many families and individuals have been hit hard by the impact on the economy and are struggling to make ends meet each month. This holiday season people are pinching their pennies to simply put food on the table for their families.
We are working with Cent Buttek, a local volunteer-run food bank, to try and make sure no families go hungry this holiday season. We are donating €15,000 to help provide thousands of meals to feed Luxembourg’s vulnerable.
Give a meal to a family
If you would like to make a monetary or food donation, Cent Buttek will be able to help even more families through 2021.
Giving gifts to children
Since 1996, the American Women’s Club of Luxembourg “Gift for Kids” program provides gifts each year to disadvantaged children in Luxembourg group homes and foyers. The project is largely funded by individual donations provided through tree and ornament displays in offices, with 100% of those donations used to purchase the presents. With so many people working remotely, there is less opportunity for donations this year when the need is greater than ever.
KPMG is happy to help provide gifts to over 200 children by donating €5,000 to the Gifts for Kids program.
Give a gift to a child
There are still many more kids that need presents. You, too, can spread some holiday cheer to a child for as little as 10 euros!
Giving joy to isolated senior citizens and children
Because of the pandemic, seniors in retirement homes and children in the hospital have become isolated this holiday season and are prone to suffer from loneliness. We are helping the Luxembourg organization Ile aux Clowns share their humor and joy by using our time and expertise to produce a video of two of their special performances that will be distributed to 60 retirement homes and hospitals across Luxembourg, reaching hundreds of seniors and children.
Give joy to seniors and children
Help Ile aux Clowns continue to spread joy and happiness throughout the holidays and beyond.
