Our People - Anne Stumpf

Anne joined KPMG Luxembourg as a trainee two years ago. After obtaining her degree in International Business, she decided that KPMG Luxembourg would be the place to start her professional career. Today, she is working as an auditor in the German Asset Management department.

Tell us about your professional background?

"I joined the German Asset Management team of KPMG Luxembourg as a trainee in October 2017 after having completed my bachelor’s in International Business, with a specialisation in Finance at the University of Applied Sciences in Trier . After a six-month internship and a considerable amount of time spent with different teams within the audit department, I started my professional career at KPMG Luxembourg. As I’d already lived abroad before, it was clear to me that I wanted to work in an international workplace. Luxembourg was the perfect location to fulfil that dream while living close to my family and friends. Moreover, Luxembourg is known for its huge financial sector and global network, and thus is a great place to start a successful career."

Why KPMG Luxembourg?

"The main reason I decided to work for KPMG Luxembourg is that I have the chance to work for a global firm on different projects and for a variety of international clients. The multicultural environment within the company and the country itself also made my decision easier. For me, it was always important to have a familiar environment where I would experience strong support and comfort to develop my professional and personal skills. KPMG Luxembourg provides an environment where you are seen as an important asset to the company and you are appreciated for your work, no matter which position you are in."

What do you like about working at KPMG Luxembourg?

"I work as an auditor in the German Asset Management department at KPMG Luxembourg. The job profile primarily includes the auditing of financial statements for different types of investment funds. Although some tasks are of a recurring nature, the day-to-day work is interesting as well as challenging, as each engagement is unique.

The work atmosphere is always friendly and pleasant. The fact that you work for different clients across various teams (each consisting of changing members) helps you connect with people from all cultural backgrounds and build a professional network. In addition, for some tasks, we have to collaborate with other departments within the firm, which is an excellent opportunity to gain an insight into the work of other teams, and broaden our skills and knowledge. In addition, KPMG Luxembourg provides a variety of training opportunities on a regular basis to hone our professional and personal skills. KPMG Luxembourg also offers study leave for university programmes or professional qualifications, and organises events for employees and clients."

What advice would you give someone who would like to join our firm?

"If you are interested in working for an international firm with people and clients from all over the world, KPMG Luxembourg is the right place for you. Moreover, the supportive and friendly work environment makes working easier and enables you to develop constantly. KPMG Luxembourg also organises several programmes and social events during the year to ensure a good work-life balance. It is also important to know that KPMG Luxembourg supports its employees at every stage, whether you are working towards professional certifications such as the ACCA or the CFA, or if you wish to work abroad for short or long-term periods. My advice is to be open-minded and to take the opportunities that come your way in order to build your career."
