Dear Readers,

The Government in Kazakhstan plans to implement a pilot project1 for the automation of the process of legal entities liquidation. The Minister of Justice and the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry signed the corresponding joint order.

The Pilot Project proposes to automate the process of liquidation for legal entities as follows. A liquidated company (the Service Recipient) submits an application for termination of activities accompanied by the required documents in PDF format through the E-Government web portal. The system automatically checks for registered branches, and if found, notifies the Service Recipient.

After the verification stage, including checks in the tax administration system, if successful, the system automatically issues an order for the state registration of the cessation of activities, and the company is deregistered with the “Liquidation” status. Otherwise, the system sends to the Service Recipient's personal account a refusal to register the cessation of activities.

The order includes standard appeal procedures in case of disagreement with the decision.

The order comes into effect on 1 July 2024. According to the order, the Pilot Project should be implemented in all obalsts, cities of republican significance, and the capital of Kazakhstan by 1 July 2025.
