Agribusiness is a network of experienced professionals in Kazakhstan and around the world
The agricultural sector is one of the few sectors in Kazakhstan which is increasing despite the current economic turmoil in Kazakhstan. Nevertheless, it is important to remain focused on sector perspectives and realizing the existing potential. Both agricultural producers and officials from the ministry of agriculture acknowledge serious problems in the sector that need to be addressed rather sooner than later. They speak about the renewal of the industry strategy, the analysis of the efficiency of the existing state support programs given current liquidity constraints, ensuring access to affordable finance for agricultural producers, increasing capital investment in the sector, including the transfer of technologies, and many other topics ranging from land reform to international certification of Kazakhstan agricultural produce.
We at KPMG believe that our dedicated team of over 50 professionals can contribute to successful resolution of current challenges. We possess necessary expertise in transnational agri deals, for instance we assisted a large multinational to acquire Kazakhstan business for over USD 500 million, which became the largest transaction in the Kazakhstan agri sector in 2015.
KPMG team has successful experience of reviewing the efficiency of the state support provided to different industries and regularly communicates with different state authorities and agencies – this experience is applicable for agri sector as well.
Our cooperation with agri sector unions shows that our expertise in strategy and operating efficiency is very sought after and our ability to bring in international expertise improves the dialog between a business community and officials.
