On 4 September Astana was the venue for the Foreign Direct Investments Day organised by KPMG in Kazakhstan and Central Asia and the Department for International Trade at the British Embassy. The event was held within the international exhibition EXPO 2017 Astana in the UK Pavilion.
The audience was welcomed by KPMG in Kazakhstan and Central Asia Managing Partner Assel Khairova and the Director of Trade and Investment at the Department for International Trade David Ratcliffe. The presentations were delivered by Helen Lane, Manager of the Department’s “Invest in GREAT Britain” campaign, who spoke on the country’s investment climate and opportunities, and Oliver Geidt, a Brexit expert from KPMG in London, who overviewed the outlook for Brexit, its risks and opportunities, as well as possible effect on business. After the presentations, the guests were invited to take a tour around the UK Pavillion.
