2016 Pulse Survey – Building a Great Board

With a rapidly evolving business landscape, the extent to which companies succeed or fail depends on their ability to prepare for or respond to current and emerging risks such as the slowing global economy, geo-political tensions and proliferation of major cyber breaches.

How well companies navigate and surmount these issues is determined by the leadership at the helm of the company - the Board. The alignment of board talent with the company’s long-term strategy is critical to a company’s success.

In 2016, the KPMG Global Audit Committee Institute (ACI) surveyed more than 2,300 directors and senior executives in 46 countries around the world to understand the tools and approaches that directors are using to achieve the right mix of skills, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives in the boardroom. This study provides insights into how Singapore companies compares globally in this critical area of corporate governance.
