Anis Pringle

KPMG East Africa

A founding partner of IDAS, Anis is in charge of the health and Innovation Portfolio and IDAS' Risk Management.

Anis Pringle has 36 years of experience in accounting, audit and grant management. She has worked in over 15 countries in the world, and after more than 20 years of managing and auditing development programs, her desire to see quality risk management continues to drive her forward. In her words “The impact of having a safe pair of hands for development aid monies can never be underestimated.”

As the first female partner of the KPMG IDAS Africa practice, Anis has overseen some of the department’s largest and most long standing development sector clients. She was part of the driving force behind setting up a global grants management system which provided support to 38 civil society organisations around the world for over a period of 7 years. For the past 10 years she worked with the ground-breaking Financial Sector Deepening Kenya Trust to establish and help oversee the entity. In leading the KPMG Local Fund Agent team, Anis has worked with the Global Fund in Sudan and South Sudan for the last 14 years.

Financial management and development advisory services have been strong points in Anis’ career and she cannot imagine doing anything else. However, she admits that being good at a particular field is not good enough. Personal ambition, delivering quality and committing to what she does comes first. It is not all work and no play for this KPMG IDAS founding partner. Anis is a lover of the arts and classical music. She enjoys collecting art pieces particularly paintings. This has seen her become a trustee of an East African Art Trust for a number of years now.
