Founder and Managing Director, Institutional Investor Advisory Services (IiAS)
Mr. Amit Tandon is the founder of Institutional Investor Advisory Services India Limited (IiAS) and has been the Managing Director since July 2011.
Before IiAS, he was the Managing Director and CEO of Fitch Ratings India from October 2001 to June 2011, and also had oversight over Fitch Ratings Lanka. Prior to joining Fitch, he was with the ICICI group for 17 years (from May 1984 to September 2001), where he rotated through various roles and businesses including project finance, leasing, and the merchant banking division. His last role with the ICICI group was as Head of Investment Banking at ICICI Securities.
He has been a member of several organisations including the Reserve Bank of India’s Technical Advisory Committee on Money, Foreign Exchange and Government Securities Markets, a working group convened by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to review comments received on the Companies Act, and the Kotak Committee on Corporate Governance constituted by SEBI. Additionally, he is a member of the SEBI constituted ESG Committee, the Takeover Committee, and a Member of the Governing Body of the Foundation for Audit Quality.
He studied economics at St. Stephens College, Delhi, an MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, and has an M. Phil degree from the University of Cambridge, UK.
Anil Sachdev
Founder and CEO - Grow Talent Company Limited Founder and Chairman – SOIL
Mr. Anil Sachdev is the Founder and CEO of Grow Talent Company Limited and the Founder and Chairman of School of Inspired Leadership-SOIL. Grow Talent was the leader in HR consulting and brought Great Places to Work and Right Management to India as partners.
In October 2008, Anil and the other co-founders of Grow Talent entered the field of Education by creating SOIL - the School of Inspired Leadership. This innovative school has been co-created by a consortium of 32 leading firms. In 2019, SOIL launched its second campus in Manesar - the SOIL School of Business Design.
Anil’s experience in India and across the world covers areas such as talent management, strategic change, and organizational transformation.
Anil began his career with Tata Motors after doing his MBA in 1975 and served at the Eicher group from 1978 to 2001 in HR, Operations and Board level roles. He is the Founder of ECS, Eicher Consultancy Services and was its CEO till 2001. ECS was the joint venture (JV) partner of AT Kearney, and introduced this global firm to India. Later, ECS became a 50-50 JV with SDG - Strategic Decisions Group, Menlo Park, California - a firm founded by Stanford faculty members and graduates.
Anil is a member of the Academic Council and Faculty member of CEDEP, INSEAD campus, Fontainebleau, a member of the World Compassion Council, based in Seattle, and a Trustee of the Chinmaya Mission - a global not for profit organization. He also serves on the Global Board of Shizenkan University in Tokyo.
Anil has been a member of the National Council of CII, and has Chaired the National Committee on Leadership and HR.
J B Mohapatra
Former Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Ministry of Finance - Government of India
Mr. JB Mohapatra, a 1985 batch Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax) officer, was a member of the board that frames the policy for the Income Tax department. Mr. Mohapatra has served as a Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Ministry of Finance - Government of India from May 2021 to April 2022. He was with the Income Tax Department, AP & Telangana as a principal chief commissioner. He was also an Adviser to Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India under the Cabinet Secretariat from May 2018 to February 2020.
Mr. Mohapatra has also been a Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Department of Science and Technology and Department of Biotechnology from 2013 to 2018. His term also includes being the Joint Secretary in the Judges Inquiry Committee constituted by the Upper House of Parliament to lay charges against a Chief Justice of a High Court from 2010 to 2012.
Kalpana Morparia

Ms. Kalpana Morparia is the Founder & Managing Partner of KalMor Advisors LLP, a Strategy & Corporate advisory firm. Ms. Morparia was former chairman of JPMorgan, South and Southeast Asia. She was also a member of JPMorgan’s Asia Pacific Management Committee.
Prior to joining JPMorgan - India, Ms. Morparia served in ICICI Group from 1975. Her last assignment included Vice Chair on the Board of ICICI Group Companies and Joint Managing Director of ICICI Bank from 2001 to 2007. ICICI Bank is India’s largest private sector bank and has leadership positions in banking, insurance, asset management and private equity and a growing international franchise.
Ms. Morparia serves as an Independent Director on the Boards of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited, Hindustan Unilever Limited and Philip Morris International Inc. She is also a Member of the Governing Board of Bharti Foundation.
A graduate in science and law from Bombay University, Ms. Morparia has been recognised by several international and national media for her role as one of the leading women professionals.
Kiran Karnik
Ex-President NASSCOM
Mr. Kiran Karnik, columnist and author, describes himself as a ‘public un-intellectual’. His last book was the “Decisive Decade: India 2030 Gazelle or Hippo”. He is widely recognized for his work in the IT sector, as President NASSCOM from 2001 to 2008. He was a Director on the Board of Reserve Bank of India (2011 to 2015) and chaired the government-appointed Board which put fraud-hit Satyam back on track in 2009. He has been on many key government committees, including the Scientific Advisory Council to Prime Minister and the National Innovation Council.
Earlier, as Founder-CEO of Discovery India (1995 to 2001), he launched Discovery Channel and Animal Planet in India and South Asia. He was also Founder-Director of Consortium for Educational Communication (1991 to 1995), which oversaw production and transmission of UGC’s Countrywide Classroom TV programmes. He began his career in Atomic Energy and then spent over two decades in ISRO, focusing on the use of space technology, especially for education and development.
Currently involved with several not-for-profit organizations in the fields of education and development, he is Chairperson of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi and HelpAge India. He was also President of the India Habitat Centre (2006 to 2018).
He has been conferred many awards, including the Padma Shri.
Nilanjan Ghosh
Director, Observer Research Foundation & President, Indian Society for Ecological Economics (2022-2024)
Dr. Nilanjan Ghosh is a Director at the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), India. In that capacity, he heads two centres at the Foundation, namely, the Centre for New Economic Diplomacy (CNED), and ORF’s Kolkata Centre. He is a Member, Global Future Council on the Future of Nature and Security, World Economic Forum for 2023; Co-Chair, Task Force 3 on International Financial Architecture of Think20 Brazil Presidency (engagement group of G20 Brazil Presidency); President of the Indian Society for Ecological Economics (INSEE) for 2022-24; and Member, Research Advisory Committee, WWF India.
He served as the Director of the Think20 India Secretariat, the thinktank engagement group of G20 under the Indian Presidency. Dr. Ghosh served as Member, Expert Committee constituted by the Supreme Court of India for formulating scientific and policy guidelines with respect to cutting trees for developmental projects in March 2021, and devised the Net Present Value criteria for forest land diversion. His previous positions (in reverse chronology) entail Senior Fellow at ORF, and Senior Vice President & Chief Economist at Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited - Mumbai, and faculty member TERI School of Advanced Studies - New Delhi. He advised WWF India to set up their Ecological Economics practice from 2015 to 2020.
Dr. Ghosh has taught at various places including the Linnaeus University, Sweden, as Visiting Fellow in 2008 and 2015, the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and the School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University. He has visited Uppsala University (Sweden), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), and Stanford University (USA), at various points in time as well.
A natural resource economist by training with more than two decades of experience, Dr. Ghosh obtained his PhD from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta. One of the leading ecological economists and development analysts of South Asia, he has authored/edited 14 books and monographs, and written 95+ peer-reviewed papers and more than 185 popular articles/commentaries. He has conducted multiple advisory assignments for organizations such as IUCN, USAID, FORMAS - The Swedish Research Council, UNCTAD-India, WWF-UK, IWMI-WLE, World Bank, and many others.
O.P.Bhatt
Independent Director and Former Chairman, State Bank of India
Mr. O.P. Bhatt is an Independent Director on the boards of a variety of multinationals, including Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Tata Steel Limited, Tata Motors Limited and the non-executive Chairman of Greenko Energy Holdings, Mauritius - a leading Renewable Energy company, and Aadhar Housing Finance Limited - which is one of the largest affordable housing finance companies in India.
He retired as the Chairman of State Bank Group, which includes State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest commercial bank; five associate banks in India; five overseas banks; SBI Life, the country’s largest private life insurer; SBI Capital Markets, India’s leading investment bank; SBI Fund Management; and other subsidiaries spanning diverse activities, from general insurance to custodial services. He led SBI during challenging times - under his leadership, SBI rose on the global list rankings of Fortune 500.
He was also Chairman of Indian Banks’ Association, the apex body of Indian banks and has served as India’s economic diplomacy as the government’s nominee on the India-US CEO Forum, Indo-French CEO Forum and Indo-Russia CEO Forum - forging links with a cross section of the world’s business leaders.
He is a seasoned and thoughtful leader. He was nominated Banker of the Year by Business Standard and Indian of the Year for Business in 2007 by CNN-IBN.
He is a science graduate with a postgraduate in English Literature.
Rishikesha T Krishnan
Director and Professor of Strategy, IIM Bangalore
Ram Charan Chair Professor in Innovation and Leadership
Prof. Rishikesha Krishnan is Director and Professor of Strategy at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB); earlier he was the Director of IIM Indore. He is also currently the Ram Charan Chair Professor in Innovation and Leadership, and held the Jamuna Raghavan Chair in Entrepreneurship at IIMB from 2007 to 2010.
Prof. Krishnan was educated at IIT Kanpur, Stanford University and IIM Ahmedabad. His main areas of interest are strategy and innovation. He has been listed in the Thinkers50 India list of most influential management thinkers from India.
Apart from academic publications, Prof. Krishnan has written two books: 8 Steps to Innovation: Going from Jugaad to Excellence (co-authored with Vinay Dabholkar) which won the Best Book Award (2013 to 2014) from the Indian Society for Training & Development, and From Jugaad to Systematic Innovation: The Challenge for India.
Prof. Krishnan has extensive corporate board and advisory experience. He is currently on the boards of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Wheels India Ltd., and the Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA). He has served on several committees set up by the Government of India and prominent industry associations related to innovation in India. He is a member of the CII National Committee on Technology, Innovation & Research, and the CII National Higher Education Committee.
Prof. Krishnan was a member of the expert committee set up by the Government of India from 2017 to 2018 under the chairmanship of Justice BN Srikrishna to propose a data protection framework for India.
Prof. Krishnan co-founded one start-up and was the CEO of another. He has been on the jury of the Economic Times start-up awards. He is currently on the advisory board of YourNest Investment Advisors.
Tanya Singhal
Founder Mynzo Carbon and Former Founder SolarArise
Tanya Singhal is an industry expert in the climate technology and renewable energy sector with over 18 years of experience. Her entrepreneurial voyage took flight when she founded SolarArise, a solar asset management vehicle responsible for developing over half a GW of solar projects across 7 states in India.
Her leadership and influence extended beyond business operations as she collaborated with government and industry stakeholders to shape India’s renewable energy policies through close collaboration with the Ministry of Renewable Energy. After 8 years of leading SolarArise, Tanya successfully sold the firm to an InVit listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Tanya is now building Mynzo Carbon - MyNetZerO which is using AI to automatically measure emissions and create a 'climate-identity'; it offers personalized nudges to reduce carbon footprint and finally closes the loop by building 'My-Forest' for carbon recapture to get to Net Zero.
She started her professional journey as a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group and holds a Bachelor's degree in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and the Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.
Tanya's dedication extends beyond entrepreneurship as she actively participates in Milaan, an NGO focused on empowering underprivileged adolescent girls in their pursuit of professional excellence. Tanya's career is marked by her unwavering commitment to climate consciousness and her dedication to increasing women's representation in the industry. Her accolades, including recognition in Business World Sustainability Business Person of the Year 2023, Asia's Most Influential Women in Renewable Energy, Business World's 40 under 40 and the Power 100 - 2022, 2021, 2019 reflect her tireless pursuit of sustainable solutions that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the renewable energy sector & contribute to NetZero ambitions.
Beyond her professional pursuits, she is an advanced scuba diver, a fervent cyclist, and learns Hindi classical music & ukulele.
Vibha Dhawan
Director General at TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute
Dr. Vibha Dhawan is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India and is currently also serving as an Adjunct Professor, at Consul General South Asia Partnership, Michigan State University. Being driven by a deep academic and research interest, Dr. Dhawan has authored 6 books and over 50 publications, which have added immense value in scientific research.
Dr. Vibha’s thought leadership and engagement in research as well as policy development, both at the national and international level is widely acknowledged. She is currently a task force member of National Committees with the Department of Biotechnology, the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council, and the Biotech Consortium India. Dr. Dhawan is currently a member of the Networks Strategy Council that advises Sustainable Development Solutions Network – a global initiative for the United Nations and was previously the Co-Chair of the T20 Task Force 4 on Refuelling Growth: Clean Energy and Green Transitions. Under her able leadership, the National Centre of Excellence in Green Port & Shipping, in collaboration with the Indian Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways was established at the TERI campus, and played a key role in the establishment of the DBT-TERI Centre on Advanced Biofuels.
She played a pivotal role as the co-ordinator for the Asia Pacific Consortium on Agriculture Biotechnology (APCoAB); as Advisor to the Director General, The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT) as well as Deputy Director, Research Partnerships & Co-ordination with the Borlaug Institute for South Asia. She has served on the boards of prestigious organizations in India and overseas including Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Ambedkar University, Ayurvet Foundation and Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International (CABI).
Dr. Dhawan was instrumental in establishing the highly successful Micropropagation Technology Park at TERI. Her other major achievements include developing e-contents for the post-graduate programme in biotechnology for the University Grants Commission. Her recent research interests are in the area of biofuels.
